Why is there a large Dress Form stuck at the top of my page you might ask yourself, well this is one of my proudest moments.  I did this with my SplodgeAway Mat and my sponge and nothing else except the piece of A4 paper I had left after I had cut the Dress Form figure out of it. (a self made stencil)

You might think that the colouring on the dress form looks easy but it took a lot of control and a lot of twisting around to make sure the lighting was in the right place.  I love the Clarity Femanine stamp down the centre, which just came to me, can you remember that the proper dress makers dummies used to be sectioned off for measurements of each individual piece of material?  Below is another version of the same thing but the black one was done using a SplodgeAway Stenscape and Rose Mask and Blending.
Do you have a proudest moment - come on you can tell us this is a crafters only blog.  Why don't you leave a comment at the bottom of this Blog saying "My proudest moment is........." and we will all go blog hopping to see each others proudest moments on your individual blogs??  Anyone fancy joinging in.  Go on we could all do with a little self praise!!!

I will be waiting......... Sam

Not a TV Card in Sight!!

Hello everyone, I am back from the NEC which I will be talking about on here, sorry to anyone who didn't get there, but hey, it doesn't mean we have to be MISERABLE too!!!  If I can't get there next year and you can I will let you TELL ME ALL ABOUT IT !!!!!!??????? So here we go , if you can't bear it SWITCH OFF NOW!

The first day, the Friday I sat in the car from 9.30, got a warning from Sue & Tom (who were half an hour ahead of us) that they were stood still in traffice at 10.30  Its OK I have a CLEVER Husband who hadn't gone the same way as Sue and Tom OHHH I LOOOVVVEEEE YOU!  So when two hours later there were massive tail backs from the stationary traffic HE KNEW A WAY TO AVOID IT  I sttiiillllllll love you, half an hour later "Oh look he says" ? What? "I have just missed the turning that would avoid the traffic cues"!!!  I LOVE YOU  Bite lip pretend to be reading Map!!

At 12Noon he starts to say "I think you might miss your meeting with the girls at 2pm (whats he talking about the NEC is only about 3 hours away, with traffic 4 hours, we set off at 9.30 no probs!)

AT EXACTLY 2.35 we arrive at the NEC!   Still Sue and Tom came and met us at the door. Tom in Agony cos a pallet had fallon on him, (no I did NOT wish that that had happend to my Hubby!)

There does that make all you crafty girls who couldn't make it feel better?

Now for the good news, condensed.  Great to see Tom "Live" on the C&C stand, lovely to have a bit of time with Sue out of "Our" shop (eeewww she hates that) ITS HERS!!  I buy the CLARITY LETTERBOX SET - the kids buy an AIRFIX FLYING THING within 10 mins which Costs £50 I could have got more clarity stamps with that!! Kids do painting class with that bloke off telly, the famous one, you know the good one???

Next day meet all the lovely girls (most of the lovely girls) that are the crafty talkers on Face Book.  Felt like we all knew each other, except the ones who have a Dog as their profile?  They looked a bit different.  All had lunch and shopped together and watched Dean together - he is soooooo hilllarious, I didn't like his Mustach on TV but its actually really Sexy (watch it hubby!!!). Bet he knows a way to avoid the traffic!

It was great for Annette Lee to see me passing every half hour after the girls had gone for th e train!  And it was even lovelier for Maria to bump into me, I bet that made their day.  You couldn't see Barbara Gray she was totally surrounded for thee whole time. The Indigu Blu stall was great and it was lovely to meet Kay Halliwell Sutton who we will be seeing at Suzicraft next year for a class! It was great to stand and watch "The Craft Chick" from paperartsy, and it was lovely talking to Wendy from Crystal Avenue.  It was great to have a little chat with Leoni who couldn't believe my kids were helping my Hubby to carry Tom's stuff, and seeing Carly Duff in her flat shoes. But most of all it was just lovely to connect with the people I talk to now on a daily basis, who I have never met before but who I feel will be keeping us all cheerful for the next year ahead on FB.  I hope more of us can meet up next year.

Well I have waffled on enough, so I will give you the more juicy stuff bit by bit, and will put some creations on here that I have made with my new stash - nothing was bought that I could have got in my Favorite Shop!! Suzicraft.

Right - are you bored??  You deserve a good cup of tea or a nice glass of wine if you got right to the bottom of this so go on, treat yourself, I am off to my craft room.  Would be lovely to hear from any of you?

Sunday 21 October 2012

Hi there everyone, I would like to thank you all for following me I do appreaciate it. I would also like to say welcome to Rae, Bernice and Caroline thank you for joining. Of course I will/have returned the compliment!

I have been neglecting my Gblogs because my working blog is my Website blog which is attached to my SplodgeAway Blog which is the DT Blog (get all that)?  Well what I am trying to say is, all the cards I have been making have been going on that blog so I haven't had any work to show on here or my main GBlog.  I do have a lot of work outstanding but none of it can be shown yet, its for TV,  DT Blog and Challenges.  So, I will give you a small collage of my latest DT Blog card and bits I have messed around with just for the usual "Eye Candy" (I never blog without it) but you have probably already seen some of it.  I don't do this blog to show off my work anyway really, its just a private blog to talk to fellow mad/addicted/show me a table and I'll make a card on it type of crafters!

I am really excited about the crafting world at the moment.  My cards are getting better (well I think they are) I am meeting loads of like-minded people.  Having connections with DT Members from Indigo Blub, Clarity Stamps, and SplodgeAway is so exciting, my three favorite styles of cards and stamps and images etc. We just all talk rubbish though!?  Joe said tonight on facebook about how its exciting because there are so many mediums to play with, I agree with her there is so much to choose from and although my Debit Card looks a bit worn out its great buying all the different stamps, inks, card stock and embellishments that are so reasonably priced!!  Does that sound like an advert?

I have done a couple of great classes lately one with Marie this weekend, she is so good at designing new card styles, and a couple of weeks ago I did the Altered Book class with Annette Lee (our Blog Lady) well I was so excited about that, I have been cutting holes in anything that stands still and has print on it ever since!!!

What next - well watch this space!!!!!  My next big shopping trip is going to be really exciting too because a few of the DT/s from the different teams (well some are on all the teams I think? eh Rae?) are meeting up at the NEC on the Saturday.  Can't wait.  On My shopping list is the Clairty letters and Numbers.  Soooo anyway I am supposed to being doing something for Eileens' Challenge but thought I would catch up with my blogs first and do that in the morning! To feel free to drop me a comment!
By for now, Sam

Suzicraft 1st Birday!

I can hardly believe it, its one year since www.Suzicraft.com  of Stockton On Tees, came into our lives.
What a lot has happened in that year.  I had just set up some of my own classes in The Pottery Loft in Billingham, I was hovering around any craft shop I could find, usually The Range or Hobby Craft trying to promote my own business of selling cards, doing the classes and just generally talking to like minded people about crafting, I often used to get asked which was the best glue to use or how do you use an acrylic stamp, whats the best ink etc - and that was just when I was out shopping!  Then I met Barbara Grey (the other one) we kept bumping into each other in The Range and she used to ask me advice on the best products to use, then it became silly because everytime I was in the shop she would appear or sometimes she would get there just ahead of me, never pre-arranged.  So we decided we spend that much time together we may as well arrange to meet - she told me that Collectables were going to have a Docraft Demonstrater starting and we arranged to go.  Well we couldn't leave we were so inpsired so we went to the next one and the next one, and we stayed all day, then we started to go to lunch with the Demonstrator and she told us about future plans and classes so we booked into them all.  Guess who that demonstrater was!  Annette Lee - can you believe I am now on the Design Team that she runs for Tom of SplodgeAway (or Mr Suzicraft). I secretly call Annette our BlogLady - not sure she would like that title though!?
There was a buzz about town suddenly, everywhere you went (which was always a craft shop) someone would ask if you had been to "that new craft shop in Stockton"? or ask if you had heard of Suzicraft.  Barbara was the first one to go, she came and told me all about it, said I would love it there.  So I nipped along to check it out.  Tom Whisked me off upstairs once I told him about my classes and website and utube - and he talked of his plans and we were both really excited about crafting, Sue was there welcoming everyone into her shop dishing out Tea letting everyone know they could come and use the crafting table.  I loved the place straight away and my first Impression of Sue and Tom was of two very enthusiastic, hardworking, sociable people with a vision for the future.

I told Tom about how excited I was to go to Annette's demoes and classes and I told Annette about Toms vision and enthusiasm and we all ended up being part of the same team - but the main factor in all of this is Sue and Suzicraft - its not just a shop its a community, a place to craft a place to meet new people a place to nip in for a cuppa and buy all your Crafty Goods at the best price you will find anywhere! I wrote a peom about Suzicraft when I hadn't been going there long because I was so inspired by the shop and Sue and Tom - it now sits on the wall in the shop, I am proud of it but it took nothing to write because the essence of what Suzicraft is just popped out of the ink in my pen. So why not nip along on Saturday 15the September 2012 to http://www.Suzicraft.com to celebrate the shops 1st Birthday. you can read my poem, have a cuppa, buy some goodies and most of all your can watch Annette Lee, Maria Simms and Mr SplodgeAway himself demonstrating new products.  There will be food and drink and a friendly atmosphere.  AND I WILL BE THERE!  Ok that might put you off but go along anyway!

More of my SplodgeAway xmas cards

Another little project that I did to demonstrate the SplodgeAway Words.  It didn't get to be on TV, understandably - I am learning! But I personally still like it, a little rushed so could have been better!?  The SplodgeAway wording masks are great.  I have always said to Tom that crafters just can't get enough wording in stamps, embossing anything and he has certainly come up trumps.  Just a quickie tonight as I have put lots of splodge work on Facebook etc from our blog but this is just for my crafting blog - its just more of an impersonal scrap book page really!  I enjoyed doing this but would have worked on the layout more if I hadn't been doing it last minute. Bye for now, Sam

TV Famous Cards

Yesterday was a good day for SplodgeAway and a good day for me personally.  I had three cards on TV and one made an appearance twice as an extra show was put on at 6pm.  This restores my faith in my work because I know my cards wouldn't be shown if they weren't good enough.  I am trying not to get all excited about this like a teenager, but it is very hard to contain myself, in fact I think I may have already not been cool about this.  I have thanked Maria about three times in various places on the web for mentioning my name, and I sat all night checking Facebook and the blogs for any glimpse of a conversation about our DT cards appearing on the TV.  Soo - Hungry for fame? maybe in the past, hungry for Praise?  ALWAYS!!  But to console myself I don't think I am alone in this, I did notice a few comments on facebook, by the other DT members, seemed to have been written with a rye smile on their face.

I sat half the night wishing I could put the "Most Famous" card on my blog but thought I should wait to get the go ahead.  Then I noticed Karen had already put hers on and so PM'd her "are you sure we can put our cards on the blogs now"!  Yeh sure go ahead and blog away" so I quickly updated my SplodgeAway blog just to realise that actually I was probably the only person still up and checking, apart from Karen off course.  Never mind - the buzz hasn't quite gone yet!

So what do I do with this Card fame now?  Nothing? Wait and see what happens?  What do I want to happen? Oh I don't know, I will just enjoy the fact that the dream I had a year ago of getting one of my cards in a Magazine on the "Over to you" page has been completely topped by getting (in all) four of my cards on TV.  I will just enjoy the moment and then get up to my Craft Room to do the weekly DT project that I was supposed to do yesterday!!  But I would like to thank Tom & Sue and Annette for putting me on the DT in the first place. and would like to thank Tom, Annette and Maria for all the classes of theirs I have attended which have brought me to this level of crafting - and still lots more to attend.

I promised you Tags

It started with this image
Turned it blue on IPhone Like this.
This took 10 mins!!
Spoilt this with spray?
Speak, See, Hear No Evil

My first ever Tag- Take the time to do it properly!
Hi there I'm back already, I promised you Tags so you shall have Tags!  Not fantastic tags by any means but Tags - I am still working on it.  You see I have done some Twinchies "2 by 2" and I have done some mini tags i.e tiny folding card type that you put on presents, but TAGS as in here is just a completely over the top decorated beautifully tag, well I haven't done many of them.  In fact to speak of I would say I really have only produced ONE!  Now I didn't even realise this myself, I LOVE tags, I blog hop all the time just to see some of the gorgeous tags that people are producing, you should look around, it is unbelievable the work that is out there, especially anyone who has a bit of a Tim Holtz inside them the images they are useing are amazing.  So back to mine, the main problem? 1 - I get an idea stuck in my head and even if it is not working I find it hard to give up on it!  2, there isn't a lot of space on a tag so positioning is harder than you would think if you don't want to centre it.  Mind you, I thought I would never be able to do much with the Twinchies but the one I did useing the Clarity Stamps was highly praised by the Twinchie Challene DT Member, and I was quite surprised by it myself.  I am starting to see the effect of the clarity classes I have done with Annette and Maria creeping into my other work.  Soooo, I am not enthralled by these tags, in fact I have added the first one I did to remind you (it has visited this blog before) of what it looks like because I think it was much better than these.  But not all work has to be your best, I use pieces like this to learn from them - I already have another Tag drying upstairs with Gesso paint and Distress Inks sprayed all over it.
Comments good bad or constructive are welcome! Please- otherewise I will think I am talking to myself again! Bye for now, Sam

Bit of a Dry Spell

Hi there, To start with I would like to welcome Bernice as my latest follower, thank you.  I appreciate all my followers.  Well after having a couple of weeks of producing all sorts of different cards and various tags and things, I have gone through a slight dry spell, well in terms of crafting that is.  I have been writing poetry but I will come back to that another day.  Do you ever get those moments when you have a new stash so you quickily run to your craft room and spread it amongst the shelves so your Hubby doesn't have time to realise how many things you have bought?  Well I found a few of these stashes a few days ago, so I got them all out on my Craft table, then proceeded to tidy all other items away to give me plenty of space to play, then I tidied my ribbons, and papers before I set up my cricut machine, got my Spellbinders out, my heat gun was put in place and I put new batteries in my glue gun - then it was bed time?  Sooo the next day I looked at my craft room all neat and ready and waiting and decided to just quickly check my emails, then feed the kids, then take them and the dog out for a day trip, the same the next day - and tonight? well why didn't I just get myself up to that room? I have a plan - I will Make a Plan, list what I want to make and stick to it, then I can concentrate  on one tag, one card, one up-cycled item instead of sitting staring at my stash with so many ideas that I don't know where to start. I will pick up one stamp, one item to make and 1 (or 3 ?)  inks to use.  There, that feels more organised, I will show you the result tomorrow! Am I the only one who gets days when they want to get to the craft room, and could go to the craft room but just doesn't get there for some reason?

In the meantime as I have nothing brand new to show you, I will show you what I currently have on our www.splodgeaway.blogspot.com  site I normally keep this blog and splodgeaway seperate as I use my samshomecookeddesigns blog and my main GBlog for that, but just so you have some visual I will break the rules! Right I am off to make a Tag! Good night.

Saturday 28 July 2012

Hi all.

Had a busy week this week. After a few teething problems with my two lovely bairnes we ended up having a lovely peaceful week. All were fed, watered, occupied and happy.  Talking of happy, wasn't our Olympic Ceremony absolutely great, loved the fact the Queen played along and Rowen Atkinson was funny, one of my friends once had a blind date with an exact look a like of him, in fact if I hadn't know this guy had told her he looked like him I would definately have asked for his autograph - we are talking about er, well, a good few years ago when I lived in Swindon. She actually didn't go on the date, I was there as back up so we didn't acknowledge him and went off to Route 66 instead!!

Anyway, I had a really good crafting session on Friday with Annette and Maria, thanks to you both, it really was a good day and I now have a lot of new ideas to try out from what I learnt.  Everyone I spoke to said how good the class was.  I have put picturs of my work on my main Gblog but I might pop them on here for a quick look, actually I will have to because at the moment I havn't got anything new to show.  I fancy designing a few new projects to sell, my website really needs some new stock put on there, which won't sell,  but at least I will have stock from it for my next craft table.!?! I have been buying a few little nic nacs for me to decorate and I might think about making some bags again.  I really need to find a good fabric shop somewhere?  Maybe I will get some Tarten in Inverness next week?

Tuesday 24 July 2012

Hi, just a quickie, I nipped downstairs for a few minutes and have ended up blog hopping for hours so thought I should at least update my own!  I don't have any images to show off though because all my work I have been doing lately is SplodgeAway DT work.  I do see now why Annette and Maria can come up with lovely card after lovely card, the more you craft the more ideas you get and you get in a flow, Not saying that I am coming up with lovely card after lovely card, just that I am more inclined to play around with my designs when I get in a good few crafting session in a short space of time.  I have to stop myself going off on a tangent and concentrate on the one I am on first.  Been discovering some great talent tonightt especially ATC people they seem to really craft for themselves on ATC's and their work on the ATC is a lot different to their cards a lot of the time.  I am becoming a bit of an ATC girl myself but my cards are already different now because of the SplodgeAway Mat, I am not saying that because I am on the DT either, I just love the rich deep colour you can get by going over an edge until the colour is nearly off your sponge and then just bring it onto the card - you couldn't get that look if you printed it!  Especially with the Butterscotch Adirondack I just looove it. I always start with that colour now because all other colours blend really nicely over the top of it.  Anyway I have a Breyer class on Friday with Annette and Maria I can't wait, but wished I had got some practice in, you know what its like you can do something just fine but want to improve your techniques, but then you go to the class and it all goes wrong so you look like a total beginner! Still we are there to learn!  I missed the deadline for "The Stamper" magazine competition I had decorated a whole wooden box but was struggling to make a centre piece, someone did say it was good enough as it was but its not worth entering if you don't think you might be in at least the top 500?? Still might be able to enter next year its just that in this one you had to use my favorite stamps!!! Bit gutted! This pic is an old DT project and used two of my all time favorite stamps!

Oh and I think you might get to see a repeat of Maria Simms lovely card demonstration and a few glances of Tom - Mr SplodgeAway himself.

Upcycling

We all upcycle books, boxes, tags, bags etc, but what about upcycled Poetry! I have a sample which I put on my SplodgeAway/samshomecookeddesigns blog this morning. "The Gruffalo" or as I put it

"The Big Messy House"

All is quiet in the Big Messy House
No kids hanging around
Not even a mouse
I looked at the craft room
and it looked good
so I will do what I want
and not what I should!!
And when the kids come home
and my crafting is done
and there is peace and calm
from everyone,
we will enjoy some time and
play cat and mouse
and we won't really care about the
Big Messy House!!!

Blogging Busy!!

I have been blogging busy tonight, I just came on here for a quick look.  First of all I checked out our SplodgeAway blog to see what was going on, there is a lovely card on there from Sue, great blending. Then I checked on the rest of the team to see what they were up to in their blogs, of course Maria Simms had yet another piece of art on there, when do you get time to make all these projects Maria?  Anyway she had entered a competition called Twinchie challenge Blog where you have to do a peice of art on a 2" by 2" piece of card, so of course I had to enter that, I have been itching to enter a challange for ages, was going to enter one for the Stamper Magazine but I had to ditch it and not sure if I have time to re-start anyway, so this was my first entry, well my first two entries, and my lovely daughter Hannah did one too. I will show you that when I get I get pic taken. I think I mucked it up on the linking though?  Then I discovered that the lovely Punkleface had paid me a massive compliment after she looked at a website with lovely artwork and pottery on and she said that it made her think of me, I am honoured that you think I have an eye for a good piece of art like you.  Then I was about to do another link but my computer has gone off line so many times while I have been writing this that I have forgotton what it was!!!!? So I will show you the entries I put in on the 2inch by 2inch challenge (was that what I was doing anyway?) Oh I don't know I have had one bottle of lager!  Anyway I hope you like them.  By the way, I hope all goes well tomorrow Tom, Sue I will see you tomorrow unless you went too???  ByseBy

SplodgeAway DT Reject.     Don't get me wrong the DT Team didn't reject this card, I did, It was originally supposed to be for something other than the SplodeAway Blog, which I have just realised I probably can't tell you so lets just leave it at that?  Anway this did start off as a very nice card but Tom our Mr SplodgeAway himself is a bit good with a camera and spots the tiniest of flaws on any peice of work immediately.  i.e. within a second of looking at it he said " I can't use that, it has white stuff all over it, it won't photograph well"!  White stuff? I havn't used any white stuff?  Well what had happend is that I had used my Pearl Mist Cosmic Shimmer over parts of the card and then put some Glossy Accents on parts of the card and the two together turned into white stuff!  If you click on the airoplane under the flower you will see the bit I didn't manage to hide.    Of course then I did more paper adding and more splodging to cover it up until it just became too much as you can see!!, shame it had started out as a nice project.  Anyway be warned.  On the bright side if you want a really good snow effect on your Christmas cards just use Cosmic Shimmer  (pearl mist) and Glossy Accents together!  Below is a little Gift Tag I made whilst playing around with my new Splodge-A-Mask I love this spotty mask it is gorgeous if you just sneak a bit into a project by double stenciling I havn't even got to embossing it yet, that will be lovely I know, I am still just inking it at the moment. I have also used it on one of our splodgeaway blog projects - aha, should I be telling you that?
A little gift Tag I made
This Gift Tag was made using my New Splodge-A-Mask Dot

Monday 9 July 2012

Well this is going to be short and sweet, actually nothing I write is short and sweet, once I get gabbing thats it! Its not my fault I hardy ever get to see or talk to adults so there is a lot of gabbing held inside there that is bursting to come out!!! Anyway back to the short and sweet thing!  I have just spent half an hour writing and tweeking spellings etc on this blog, some of the ramblings mentioned how everytime I tried to update this, my favorite blog, I got distracted by facebook and twitter which are quite busy at the moment, anyway I did the write up then went to add just two average photos of cards I had been asked to make or made for friends, for those of you who are like me and like a bit off visual blogging, but the photos were on my phone and the blog won't take them straight off there, so I downloaded them onto my computer and decided 640 photos on my phone was just getting a bit much, so I transferred most of them to the Computer and deleted a lot of them off my phone and then an HOUR later when it was all done I went to add the two photos, but by then I had lost them somewhere in my mass of photos with their complicated filing sytem!  Ah well I thought, I will just add any old photo for now and people won't know I had made the cards a few weeks ago - but guess what!!! my blog had not saved the write up!!!!!! Oh just give me some crafting to do!  Anyway now I don't even know if I can get a photo on here or which one to put on, but if you are NOT reading this I lost the whole thing again anyway!  Sam

Create & Craft TV Launch & My Craft Stall

This is so exicitng, have just looked at Carley's blog (Carley from Create & Craft) and she was talking about meeting Tom and said that she has been working on her SplodgeAway Mat and likes it. See link below for comment. She said she will be seeing Tom on Thursday 5th July because he is on TV at 12pm and she is on just after him with Leoni. I like Leoni!! Of Course Maria Simms will be there too with Tom.
carley's creations: splodge away

Anyway check out her blog, she is a lovely lady and I like her Demoes. All of Tom's DT team are soooooo excited about thursday, can't wait to watch Tom and Maria on Create & Craft, we will be taking a few lap tops into the shop to watch it together, of course I will also record it at home because everyone will be talking. Good luck for Thursday Tom, say Hi to Carley and Leoni for me, oh and the Glitter Girls they will be on too.

RIGHT, while I am here does anyone want to know about my week? I had a dentist appointment - so I thought - wrong week. I had two sports days, cancelled at the last minute due to rain, as usual. Was trying to keep up with my DT work, (my favourite part of the week - but I failed) whilst trying to prepare for a craft table for which I had no goodies - except a few xmas tree owls from the last one I did.
- so I spent about £50 on goodies i.e. chalk boards, cups, blank note pads to upcycle, inks for the printer, coffee to keep me awake during the long nights, and McDonalds for the kids because I was too tired to cook because I was crafting half the night!!!! Still my Dad and Brother Robert looked after my Son, my Daughter came to help me on the stall, very sweet of her, SHE SPENT in total about £20 on goodies and sweets FROM OTHER CRAFT STALLS I spent about £10 on lunch for us both, and of course I had to pay for the table. We sat there for six hours and made A MASSIVE PROFIT OF £6.50 - well I say profitttttt?????????? It didn't even cover the cost of lunch!

And half of that money was for Sue from Suzie craft because I had some of her goodies and some splodgeAway Mats on my stall. NEVER AGAIN! Does anyone want to buy a Nanny card, A Lollipop Lady card or a Teacher/Teaching Assistant thank you card with matching tag? Or going cheap is a bunch of desk top mini chalk board stands WITH mini chalk board, and mini decorated cup to hold chalk in?
The funny thing was two teachers looked and them and really liked them, I said "don't hold your breath because I know NO-ONE has bought you one"! Thank goodness the girl on the stall next to me was lovely and we had a natter and swapped ideas. I suppose once I have caught up on my sleep I MIGHT consider doing another one in the future!?!?

Craft Table & SplodgeAway

There is a bit of a buzz in the air at Suziecraft, on Twitter, on the craft blogs and on Facebook - THIS IS IT the week that Tom goes on TV to launch the SplodgeAway mat and Masks. Its on Creat & Craft on thursday 5th July at 12 Noon and Maria Simms will be with him and I know she will have some great demonstrations waiting for us- so grab your sarnie and cuppa early and sit and watch.

I can guarantee you will feel the enthusiasm coming through your TV from Tom, all his Design Team feel it (me being one of them) I am pretty sure Annette who looks after the design team feels it, his partner Sue feels it, his customers feel it - he truely belives in his product and SO DO WE. If you are a crafter this product will revolutionise the way you craft. I have found a whole new form of art with the SplodgeAway mat and I love playing around with my inks.

If you want a sneak preview of the SplodgeAway mat I will be doing a few demonstrations tomorrow 5th July at the Norton Cricket Club, Station Road at an event run by Kings Cafe from Norton. I have a craft table selling my recent makes, but thought I would take my splodgeAway mat, some stamps and inks and let people have a little play. So why don't you come along and say Hi.
I know this blog sounds like an inframercial but its not HONESTLY, its just me and what I am up to. See you soon, must get some more note pads made!!!

What I am up to!!!

Hi everyone, sorry I have been a while getting back to you but I have had a cold - Man Flu - for two weeks, still not got rid totally, but hey ho I will survive. I have updated my other page but I like this page because of the swirls and because it feels a bit more personal on this blog, I am not selling anything, I am not trying to keep up with the Jones's (or modern terms - the blogs's) I am just being me - the totally addicted, and loveing it, crafter. Of course I still talk about Suziecraft and SplodgeAway because they have become a big part of my life. I plan my week around it, how great it is to have a place to go, craft or shop whatever you want to do, and see familiar, friendly faces when you go.

I think it could be likened a little bit to "friends" or maybe its more like "Cheers" without the alcohol!! Or maybe it could be compared, at times, with "the Golden Girls"?! that would be me as the youngest one!!!!! Anyway its a busy happening place to be at the moment. Sue and Tom are just off for a few days to Bognor Regis (oh sorry I mean Holland)

I'm busy doing DT work and I have a Craft Table to get ready for, its at the Cricket Club in Norton on 1st July 12 till 6 - all are welcome. It is being run by Kings Cafe in Norton. There will be food, stalls, kids entertainment and ME. I will be selling my wares but I will also have my splodgeaway mat there and will do a few demonstrations. Why don't you nip along.

Above are pictures of my latest designs which went on the www.splodgeaway.blogspot.co.uk this week, the theme was anything goes, products bought from www.suziecraft.com which is almost everything I use now anyway!! Hope you like them, its an 8 page mini scrapbook. See you later, Sam

A little Ditty

I am on a Design Team for SplodgeAway at Suziecraft.co.uk I may have told you several times before, who really knows if anyone gets to read your blog or not - NOBODY EVERY COMMENTS ON IT!!!!! A little "thumbs up" or a "what utter rubbish" or "hey what a great blog you have there kid", would be lovely, I won't get offended!!!

Anyway I am really proud of being on the Design Team - people would trade in their Grande Calibur to be in my position which is why I am putting every effort I can in to stay on top of the game. Mind you, loveing the products you are designing with does help a little!! Anyway when I get my splodgeAway mat out I keep getting little pieces of poetry popping into my head, not fantastic poetry, not life changing or anything but just little ditties that just appear, and if I don't write them down quick I have lost them forever!! So here is my latest one that came to me this morning.

My SplodgeAway Mat

I Splodge all day, I Splodge all night,
Till I make a design that's a wonderful sight,
And when I'm done and my SplodgeAway Mat
Is full of my inks in this colour or that,
I'll sit and play just a little more
and make something SPECIAL
To put through YOUR door!!!

By Sam Crowe

If you have any little crafting ditties I would like to hear them?

Monday 21 May 2012

I have been checking out the web and some Blogs today and found lots of new craft designers. I always get lots of inspiration from seeing other peoples work. There are lots of Design Teams out there who are doing great work but I am very excited to be on the Design Team for the SplodgeAway Mat. I have only been on the DT a couple of week and unfortunately had a holiday inbetween the Launch and the first week (don;t get me wrong, it was a great holiday, but I was laid by the pool "watching my kids swim"!? with my design book and pencil in hand. So now I am back I am taking the telephone off the hook, locking the door, and clearing my social calander, so that I can really play with the techniques, to hopefully come up with something new to really showcase the SplodgeAway and Masks that we get to design with. Check it out - www.splodgeaway.com Will add photos very soon.
